"7 out of 10 Domestic Companies Have Adopted or Pilot Tested AI"

It has been confirmed that about 70% of domestic companies are utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).

Pure Storage, a data storage technology and service provider, announced the results of the "Current Status and Future Challenges of AI Adoption in Domestic Companies" survey conducted jointly with the survey agency Embrain on the 22nd.

The survey was conducted in March targeting IT managers of 200 domestic companies with more than 500 employees. The proportion of companies that have currently adopted AI technology or are running pilot operations was 73.5%.

Among the participating companies, 34.5% responded that they have already introduced AI technology in some business sectors and departments. Additionally, 39% were found to be conducting pilot projects utilizing AI technology.

Furthermore, fields with high AI utilization were identified as IT operations, cybersecurity, and chatbots. 22% reported that they are collecting AI-related information but have not yet adopted AI.

However, it was confirmed that many companies are insufficiently prepared for AI adoption. 18.3% responded that a complete overhaul of existing IT infrastructure is necessary, and 57.6% said a significant portion needs to be revamped due to AI adoption. 65% agreed that organizational readiness for AI adoption is insufficient.

The main obstacles to AI adoption were ranked as massive investment costs, lack of in-house technology, and unverified solutions. Regarding ESG (environment, social, and governance) goal achievement, 79.1% expressed concerns about increased power consumption due to AI. However, 84.5% of respondents agreed that sustainable and power-efficient AI solutions could lead to long-term cost savings.
