In Vitro Diagnostics Specialist Rapigen Co., Ltd. Donates 70,000 COVID-19 Test Kits to Suwon City

Rapigen Co., Ltd., a specialized manufacturer of in vitro diagnostic medical devices, donated 70,000 COVID-19 self-test kits to Suwon City.

Suwon City plans to distribute the self-test kits to infection-vulnerable facilities with a high risk of COVID-19 cluster infections, such as welfare facilities for the disabled, elderly welfare facilities, and mental rehabilitation facilities.

Rapigen Co., Ltd. has been consistently practicing sharing, having previously donated 50,000 self-test kits to Suwon City in May 2022 and 50 million KRW to two single-parent family welfare facilities in Suwon City in December 2023.

Jae-gu Park, CEO of Rapigen Co., Ltd., said, "We hope the COVID-19 self-test kits will help with quarantine efforts."

Jae-jun Lee, Mayor of Suwon City, stated, "With the resurgence of COVID-19, there is concern about cluster outbreaks in infection-vulnerable facilities. We are grateful to Rapigen Co., Ltd. for donating the self-test kits necessary for quarantine," and promised, "We will proactively respond so that those using infection-vulnerable facilities can perform early diagnosis with self-test kits without visiting medical institutions."

Rapigen Co., Ltd. is the seventh company attracted by Suwon City since the launch of the 8th local government administration. The investment agreement was signed on the 8th.

It developed the first officially approved "COVID-19 antigen self-test kit" by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety among domestic companies.
