Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) is conducting the "Warm Village Making Project" in collaboration with Korea University as a new attempt for regional regeneration. This project was planned to revitalize the local community and provide new opportunities for elderly people who are excluded from digital culture.


Korea University volunteer club "Andamiro" is offering smartphone usage lessons and drawing classes to local elderly residents. Through the education, the elderly gain confidence and create good memories by making their own calendars and photo books.

The Korea University "Korean Painting Association" club is painting murals to revitalize the commercial district of Godaeap Village and improve the surrounding environment. The murals painted by the students enhance the village’s aesthetics and bring positive changes to the local community.


Ilpyeong Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “Through this project, we were able to see the village become more vibrant and bright as university students and residents cooperated. We will continue to support this so that it can break down generational barriers and serve as a model for local community development.”
