Cool Sea Festival at Imrang Beach on the 24th and 25th
Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) will host the ‘2024 Gijang Imrang Summer Music Festival’ for two days starting from the 24th at the area around Imrang Beach.
This festival is a summer event set against the backdrop of Imrang Beach in Jangan-eup, which has recently emerged as a popular surfing destination. Since its first edition in 2012, it has become one of the representative festivals of Gijang-gun, drawing enthusiastic attention from both local residents and tourists.
This year’s event is fully prepared to offer visitors to the beach a variety of performances and events, providing unique attractions and helping everyone beat the record-breaking heat of this summer.
On the first day, the 24th, the ‘2024 Children’s Song Contest’ will kick off the festival with a vibrant start, as elementary school students from across the country compete passionately.
Additionally, the festival will feature performances by the children’s cheerleading team Shooting Star, a sand art show, congratulatory performances by singer Jinwoon, and more, creating a festive atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy together.
On the second day, the 25th, the ‘Beach University Song Festival’ will continue the festivities. Eight teams of university student singers, selected through fierce preliminaries, will present their original songs to the audience, offering a romantic night by the sea filled with youthful energy.
With announcers Kim Donghyun and Jung Kyungjin as hosts, the event will also feature congratulatory performances by the group Koyote, rapper BewhY, Chae Bohun, and others, promising a more exciting midsummer night’s festival than ever before.
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, “The Gijang Imrang Summer Music Festival is a celebration led by the younger generation, from children to university students,” adding, “We hope this event will promote our county’s young and dynamic image to the public and contribute to revitalizing local tourism and the economy.”
