Gyeongbuk Ulleung County, the only local government located at the easternmost point of the country, is currently conducting the Eulji Exercise to establish emergency preparedness. Amidst this, a resident has extended a gesture of encouragement to on-site workers, adding warmth to the atmosphere.

Hamburgers and drinks are being distributed at Hanmaeum Hall, where the Eulji exercise is taking place.

The exemplary individual, Hong Junki (52), visited the Ulleung Hanmaeum Hall, where the 2024 Eulji Exercise is being held, to express his gratitude for the efforts made for national security and the safety of county residents despite the scorching heat. He personally delivered 200 hamburgers and beverages at his own expense before quietly departing.

The hamburgers and drinks delivered that day provided great encouragement and comfort to the on-site shift workers and public officials. As news of this spread, local residents unanimously praised the act, saying, "This is a heartwarming event in Ulleungdo, a place long known for its warm-hearted people," and "Public officials are people too, and they are working hard in this hot weather."

Hong Junki stated, "I simply wished to express my small gratitude to those enduring hardships during the Eulji Exercise and to all public officials in the region who are working day and night to ensure the safety and protect the lives of county residents, especially during this exceptionally hot summer."
