'First Day of Icheon Forum' Choi Tae-won Stays Until the End, "Sharing AI Strategy with Members"

Choi Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, emphasized the group's AI strategy by attentively listening until the last session on the first day of the 'Icheon Forum 2024,' which was held on the theme of artificial intelligence (AI).

After the final session of the Icheon Forum held on the 19th at Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Chairman Choi told reporters, "(The Icheon Forum) is a place to share the AI strategies of the members," giving a brief comment. Chairman Choi attended the Icheon Forum, which started at 9 a.m. that day, and devoted himself to AI discussions by listening to most of the lectures and discussion sessions.

Choi Chang-won, Chairman of the SK Supex Council, who stayed until the last session with Chairman Choi, said, "The presentation by Chairman Siemens was excellent," adding, "I learned a lot today." Jim Snabe, Chairman of Siemens, attended the third session titled ‘Change Management System to Promote SK’s AI-based Digital Transformation (DT)’ and explained the importance of AI in the digital transformation process.

This year marks the 8th Icheon Forum, which focused intensively on the AI field on the first day. Earlier, SK Group announced bold investment plans in AI and semiconductor sectors at the management strategy meeting held in June. During the forum, SK reviews the industrial landscape reshaped by AI Transition, the resulting business opportunities and threats, and collaborates with experts in various AI fields to further refine the AI value chain it is pursuing.

The main agenda of this Icheon Forum was also selected as ▲ Seeking successful value creation methods during the expansion of the AI ecosystem ▲ Change management system to promote AI-based DT (digital transformation) ▲ Innovation in the working methods of members in the AI era. Along with this, there are also member discussion sessions to enhance the execution power of SK Group’s unique management philosophy, SKMS (SK Management System).

The first day’s schedule on the 19th, themed around AI, was attended by SK Chairman Choi Tae-won, SK Vice Chairman Choi Jae-won, Chairman of SK Supex Council Choi Chang-won, as well as key executives of affiliates and outside directors.
