A Leap Toward a Wider World... Daegu Cyber University Holds 2023 Fall Commencement Ceremony

Daegu Cyber University held its 2023 Fall Degree Conferment Ceremony on the 17th at the Seongsan Hall Auditorium on the Daegu University Gyeongsan Campus, and broadcasted the event live through the official Daegu Cyber University YouTube channel.

The ceremony proceeded in the following order: congratulatory performance, opening remarks, national anthem, introduction of guests and president, academic report, conferral of degrees, presentation of awards, president's encouragement speech, congratulatory remarks from guests, farewell speech by a current student, and a response speech by a graduate.

At the graduation ceremony, degrees were conferred to a total of 358 graduates, including 25 master's degree recipients and 333 bachelor's degree recipients, among whom were 2 international students.

During the ceremony, awards were presented as follows: ▲Undergraduate Excellence Award (Department of Special Education, Lee Dahae) ▲Graduate School Excellence Award (Department of Art Therapy, Lee Dokyung) ▲Chairman's Award of the Youngkwang Academy Foundation (Department of Social Welfare, Lee Inseon) ▲President’s Award of Daegu University (Department of Rehabilitation Counseling, Bae Hyeonju) ▲Merit Award (Department of Special Education, Kim Hyoshin) ▲Alumni Association President’s Award (Department of Korean Language and Multicultural Studies, Kwon Kyunghee).

Lee Geunyong, President of Daegu Cyber University, stated, “I applaud our proud Daegu Cyber University graduates who have completed their studies despite challenging circumstances, including those earning multiple degrees, international students, students with disabilities, and homemakers returning to education after a career break. We will continue to support and encourage the ongoing growth and success of our graduates.”

In particular, Choi Yunhwan, a representative graduate from the Department of Art Therapy who has earned three degrees and is graduating for the third time from Daegu Cyber University, said, “It feels like just yesterday that I enrolled with a passion for learning and dreams for the future, and I can hardly believe this is my third graduation. I will take pride in fulfilling my responsibilities as an intellectual, based on what I have experienced and learned at this university.”

Daegu Cyber University, a prestigious institution specializing in special education, social welfare, counseling and therapy, and rehabilitation, is a four-year remote university dedicated to nurturing warm-hearted professionals for a welfare society. The university will close its second round of admissions for the 2024 fall semester on the 20th.
