Tourism Organization Participates in Singapore's Largest Travel Expo... 'Attracting Visitors to Korea'

Participation of 40 Domestic Organizations Including Local Governments and Travel Agencies

The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 19th that it opened a Korean tourism promotion booth at the ‘2024 NATAS Holidays’ exhibition held at the Singapore Expo from the 16th to the 18th, actively engaging in attracting tourists from Singapore.

NATAS is the largest travel exhibition in Singapore. This year, about 70 organizations including national tourism organizations (NTOs), airlines, and travel industry players from around the world participated, attracting over 100,000 visitors. The organization introduced diverse regional tourism content and operated consultation booths targeting potential Korean visitors together with 40 institutions such as local governments and travel agencies.

The Korean tourism promotion booth, themed ‘2023~2024 Visit Korea Year,’ reflected major interests of Singaporean consumers such as K-content tourism products utilizing K-dramas and K-pop, winter sports, and shopping tourism.

In particular, the Korea Tourism Organization explained that eight domestic ski resorts attracted visitors’ attention by offering snowboarding and ice fishing experience programs tailored to Singapore’s characteristic of having no winter.

Jo Hee-jin, Director of the International Marketing Office at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, “About 170,000 Singaporean tourists visited Korea in the first half of 2024, showing a recovery rate of 156% compared to the same period in 2019, indicating strong interest. We will continue to discover attractive themes such as K-content and winter sports that appeal to Singaporean consumers to maintain this momentum.”
