Seven hands-on special courses offered through public-academic cooperation linking local universities' excellent facilities and instructors
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) will begin accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis from August 19 for the 'Seongdong Master Academy' program, which reflects the learning needs of residents, in collaboration with Seongdong-gu Lifelong Learning Center, Hanyang Women's University Lifelong Education Center, and Hanyang University Future Talent Education Center.
The program's courses include a total of seven special lectures in the fields of digital, cooking, and design: ▲ Practical AI platform utilization skills ▲ One-person media content creator ▲ Korean cooking class with a certified cooking technician ▲ Easy Italian home cooking ▲ Food styling ▲ Character design, and more.
These hands-on courses, which were difficult to conduct at general facilities, are provided as high-quality specialized advanced courses desired by residents by linking the latest facilities of local universities and university professors in specialized fields. This also establishes an excellent model of lifelong education through industry-academia cooperation, adding greater significance.
The education period runs from September 2 to October 31, and courses will be operated according to each schedule. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, the 19th, through the Seongdong-gu website's quick reservation system.
Anyone who is a resident, or works or studies at a workplace or university located in the district, can apply. For more details, please contact the Seongdong-gu Lifelong Learning Center or the Education Support Division of Seongdong-gu Office.
Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “We are pleased to develop educational courses in collaboration with various specialized educational institutions, featuring excellent facilities and experts in each field, and to offer them to residents.” He added, “We will continue to actively reflect the learning needs of local talent development and residents and strive to provide diverse learning programs continuously.”
