42Maru Collaborates with Naver and LG Electronics as Partner Institutions
Generative AI startup FortyTwoMaru announced on the 19th that it has been selected as the executing institution for Korea's representative AI research hub construction project.
The AI research hub construction project (hereinafter referred to as the project) is an AI research hub creation initiative promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) to establish an industry-academia-research cooperation ecosystem that will serve as a stepping stone for Korea's leap to becoming an AI G3 (one of the top three AI powers).
Through public recruitment and evaluation, a consortium of KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei University, and POSTECH was selected, and FortyTwoMaru will participate as a domestic partner along with Naver Cloud, LG Electronics, and others.
Overseas AI research institutions such as Stanford University, New York University, University of Toronto in Canada, and UAE's MBZUAI will also participate as partner institutions to conduct international joint AI research including ▲transcendental research on neural scaling laws (cost curve laws necessary for AI model training and operation) ▲robot foundation model research.
Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of FortyTwoMaru, stated, "We will do our best to contribute to strengthening Korea's AI competitiveness through AI technology research linked to industry demand and to foster the next generation of leaders."
Meanwhile, FortyTwoMaru is developing a lightweight model LLM42 specialized for each industry domain based on the search-augmented generation technology RAG42 and the AI reading comprehension technology MRC42.
