5-Story Building Scheduled for Completion Next Year

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 19th that it recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Seongbuk Youth Smart Startup Center' (tentative name) and will begin full-scale construction of the facility.


The Seongbuk Youth Smart Startup Center will be built on a 533.8㎡ site at 1245-1 to 3 Gireum-dong, with a total floor area of 1,492.9㎡, consisting of one basement floor and five above-ground floors. A total project cost of 13.8 billion KRW will be invested, with completion targeted for next year.


Each floor will feature various spaces to foster local youth industries, including single-person creative enterprise offices and business incubating spaces. The beauty startup space on the 5th floor will focus on nurturing young talent in the beauty sector through collaboration with local universities.


Additionally, shared collaboration spaces for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners will be created to maximize synergy effects through linkage with youth startup infrastructure. The district expects the Seongbuk Youth Smart Startup Center to revitalize the local economy.


At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “We expect the Startup Center to become Seongbuk-gu’s representative complex startup hub facility and to invigorate the local economy,” adding, “We will spare no effort or support to open it as soon as possible.”
