Attempted to Descend from Roof to Unfurl US Flag but Failed
Continued with Smoke... "An Unnoticeable Mistake"

It has been revealed that there was actually a 'mission failure' during the stunt show by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, who made a surprise appearance at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On the 14th (local time), French entertainment media 'Closer' reported, "This failure that occurred during the Olympic closing ceremony went unnoticed," adding, "Tom Cruise actually tried to display the American flag but was unable to achieve his goal." In the latter part of the closing ceremony held on the 11th, there was a segment where the Olympic flag was handed over to the next host city, LA (Los Angeles).

Just as former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made a surprise appearance dressed as Super Mario at the 2016 Rio Olympics closing ceremony, this time, the American representative actor Cruise appeared from the sky. He made a 'surprise appearance' under a beam of light on the roof of Stade de France, where the closing ceremony was held, and descended to the stage in an instant, relying on a single rope like a scene from a Mission: Impossible movie.

At this moment, Tom Cruise repeatedly pulled hard on a string connected to a small bag attached to his right leg, but nothing happened. In fact, Tom Cruise attempted to take out the American flag that was inside this bag, but the attempt ended in failure.

However, Tom Cruise did not get flustered and continued his performance, so this action was naturally perceived as a motion to control his speed. Afterwards, he nonchalantly greeted the athletes welcoming him one by one as he ascended the stage, and received the Olympic flag from Simone Biles, the legendary American gymnast who won three gold medals at this Games.

He then descended from the stage holding the Olympic flag, placed it on the back of a pre-prepared motorcycle, and exited the closing ceremony venue. The following footage showed Tom Cruise riding the motorcycle through the streets of Paris, waving the Olympic flag. He then boarded a plane, took out a communication device, and said, "I'm on my way now."

After neatly folding the Olympic flag and putting it in his backpack on the plane, Tom Cruise parachuted from the aircraft and safely landed in California, USA, just like a scene from Mission: Impossible. He ran toward LA, the next Olympic host city, and handed over the Olympic flag to Kate Courtney, the national MTB representative. The screen showed the Olympic flag combined with the iconic 'HOLLYWOOD' sign of LA. It was a perfect use of the actor Tom Cruise and the characteristics of the host city.

It is known that this stunt-style handover of the Olympic flag was directly proposed by Tom Cruise to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
