Invitation of U Donggi, Chairman of the Regional Era Committee, on the 22nd
Uljin-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, will hold the 20th Thursday Special Lecture on the theme of "Vision and Strategy for the Era of Local Autonomy" at the Wangpicheon Culture Center in Wangpicheon Park on the 22nd, inviting Woo Donggi, Chairman of the Local Era Committee.
Chairman Woo Donggi, who has served as the head of the Local Era Committee since its launch in July 2023, leads the government's national balanced development policy control tower, systematically promoting strategies for decentralization and balanced regional development, such as establishing comprehensive plans for the local era and designating and operating Opportunity Development Zones.
In this special lecture, Chairman Woo Donggi will address issues such as the concentration of population, income, and jobs in the metropolitan area leading to the risk of local extinction, discuss the balanced development policies of past administrations and their limitations, and emphasize the need for a transition to a decentralization-led balanced development driven by local governments.
Before the lecture, County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "Chairman Woo Donggi's special lecture will be an important opportunity for us to reflect on the current reality and future of our county," and added, "I hope this will be an occasion to consider visions and strategies together for the sustainable development of Uljin-gun, which is at risk of population extinction, and to find a direction for moving forward."
