Hope Bridge Invests 760 Million Won to Support COVID-19 Vulnerable Groups

The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pil-ho) announced on the 16th that it has selected 11 organizations to carry out a public project supporting quarantine measures to prevent infectious diseases such as the recently resurging COVID-19, and has provided them with a total of 757.5 million KRW in funding.

The project, which will run until June next year, covers two main areas: creating infection protection spaces and providing quarantine services and supplies. In the infection protection space creation area, which supports project costs ranging from 5 million KRW to a maximum of 30 million KRW per organization, spaces are established where vulnerable groups can be temporarily isolated and live safely during infectious disease outbreaks, along with the provision of supplies and equipment. Hope Bridge selected six organizations for this area: Yesan Mental Care Center, Andong Aemyung Welfare Village, Jamae Mental Care Center, Gwuil Mental Care Center, Jeonnam Disabled Victims Shelter Happy House, and Gangdong Senior Welfare Center.

The quarantine services and supplies area provides quarantine services to households and facilities vulnerable to infection to prevent viruses and bacteria, and supports supplies and equipment such as hand sanitizers and air purifiers. Five organizations are carrying out this project: Gangneung Disabled Comprehensive Welfare Center, Jinsan Nursing Home, Jeonju Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Hanchang, and Geumho Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. Project costs range from 100 million KRW to a maximum of 300 million KRW per organization.

Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, “As the threat of infectious diseases to disaster-vulnerable groups is increasing with the recent resurgence of COVID-19, the importance of this project is very significant,” and added, “We urge each implementing organization to successfully carry out this project to contribute to protecting the health of disaster-vulnerable groups as well as the safety of local communities.”
