'815 Run', Held Annually on Liberation Day
Many Stars Including Im Siwan, Park Bogum, Lee Youngpyo Participate
Competition Donations Used to Build Homes for Descendants of Independence Activists
Singer Sean, known as the 'Donation Angel,' shared his thoughts on the running event he hosts.
On the 15th, a video titled "Which Running Shoe Brand Did the Finance Expert Fully Buy? Sean Talks About the Running Industry with Stone Running" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Moneygraphy.' Sean appeared as a guest and discussed the running industry with the MCs.
At the end of the video, he said, "I am currently preparing for the largest running event, '815 Run.' On that day, I will personally run 81.5 km. This is the fifth year." When PD Kim Chang-seon asked, "Can’t you just say 8.15 instead of 81.5?" Sean laughed and replied, "Many people say that. They say, 'That's enough. You've done it four times. Just run 8.15 km now.'"
He continued, "I run with the mindset of writing a thank-you letter to the independence activists who made the current Republic of Korea possible. The funds raised through the event are used to build houses for the descendants of independence activists. Over 3.9 billion KRW has been raised in four years, and a total of 14 houses have been completed so far. I want to continue this project and build up to 100 houses," explaining his conviction and the purpose of the '815 Run.'
The '815 Run' is a running event planned to honor the noble sacrifices and dedication of independence activists and is held every year on Liberation Day. Individual participation fees, combined with corporate sponsorships, are used for a housing construction project for the descendants of independence patriots.
Notably, this year’s '815 Run' attracted attention with the participation of various stars, including actors Im Si-wan, Yoon Se-ah, Jin Sun-kyu, Lee Si-young, Park Bo-gum, and former soccer player Lee Young-pyo.
