Kim Sunghee, spokesperson for the National Police Agency, has been appointed as the new chief of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency.
The National Police Agency announced on the 14th that Kim, who holds the rank of Senior Superintendent General, has been assigned as the chief of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency as part of recent personnel transfers involving senior police officials. Kim will officially assume the position on the 16th.
Born in Cheongdo, North Gyeongsang Province, Kim graduated from Mogae High School in Cheongdo and entered the police force as part of the 9th class of the Korean National Police University. He has served as chief of the Mungyeong Police Station in North Gyeongsang, chief of the Ilsan Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi, director of Innovation Planning and Coordination at the National Police Agency, director of Autonomous Police Cooperation Policy, head of the Talent Policy Task Force, director of Security Situation Management, and spokesperson.
Current chief Kim Byungwoo will be transferred to the position of Director of Personnel Planning at the National Police Agency.
