Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) was selected as an excellent district in the '2023 Annual Local Community Security Plan Implementation Results Written Evaluation' and attended the '2023 Annual Local Community Security Plan Implementation Results Face-to-Face Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 9th.
The local community security plan evaluation is conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to improve the qualitative level of community security and strengthen the accountability of local governments. It is carried out in two stages: the first written evaluation and the second face-to-face evaluation.
Previously, the evaluation committee conducted a written evaluation targeting 226 basic local governments and selected 29 cities, counties, and districts as excellent institutions. The selection considered factors such as the implementation of projects suited to local characteristics and conditions, and the degree to which the level of social security in the region was improved.
The face-to-face evaluation was conducted in a Q&A format where the evaluation committee asked questions and the local government responded. The district presented major welfare policies of Dobong-gu, including ▲Dong-centered welfare safety net Bonggune Fence Project ▲Establishment of a preventive resident health management system ▲Creation of an age-friendly local environment to expand senior citizens' social activities.
Among the 29 cities, counties, and districts, awards such as Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Merit Award will be given according to the evaluation criteria. The final results are expected to be announced in October. Regardless of whether the district wins the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, or Merit Award, it will be the first award since the local community security plan evaluation was conducted.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “The district is making every effort to establish the 5th local community security plan and implement detailed measures,” adding, “We will continue to develop and implement various policies to improve the welfare of local residents.”
Last year, the district established the 5th local community security plan (2023?2026) and is focusing on creating “Dobong, a bright future made together.” The plan includes nine promotion strategies such as ▲Dense care walking with neighbors ▲Establishment of a seamless education system enjoyed by everyone ▲Creating a safe and healthy city together ▲Productive welfare combining work and welfare, along with 40 detailed projects to implement these strategies.
