The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency's Mobile Patrol Unit announced on the 15th that they arrested A (29), a Cambodian national, and passenger B (27) on charges of violating the Immigration Control Act, as well as A for unlicensed driving under the Road Traffic Act.

On the 13th of this month at around 3:27 PM, A and others were driving a passenger car without a license from their lodging in Chungju, Chungbuk Province, to a construction site in Wonju City when they were spotted by police stationed at Namsong Intersection in Seogok-ri, Panbu-myeon, Wonju.

However, A and the others did not comply with the police officer's order to stop and fled for about 1 km. When the police blocked their escape route, they got out of the vehicle and ran for 1.5 km but were eventually caught.

Yoo Seong-su, head of the Mobile Patrol Unit, said, "We will make every effort not only to maintain public safety but also to prevent crime, providing better security services through continuous efforts."
