Doosan Robotics announced on the 15th that it participated in the 'Daegu School Cafeteria Frying Robot Demonstration' held at Daegu Palgong Elementary and Middle School in Daegu Metropolitan City, showcasing its group meal frying solution.

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education promoted the introduction of a group meal frying solution to improve the working environment and reduce the labor intensity of school kitchen staff, and 977 Robotics donated the solution. 977 Robotics, a collaborative robot partner in the food and beverage (F&B) sector of Doosan Robotics, is responsible for optimizing the collaborative robot frying solution jointly developed by Doosan Robotics and JD for the school meal environment.

By using the group meal frying solution, six frying baskets can operate simultaneously, completing frying tasks for approximately 500 servings within two hours. The collaborative robot is installed on top of the frying solution module, making oil replacement and floor cleaning easy, and its high space efficiency allows easy application in existing cafeterias. Additionally, it has secured ▲industry-leading safety certification (PLe, Cat4) ▲food hygiene safety certification from the U.S. National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) ▲and high waterproof and dustproof ratings (IP66).

In particular, according to verification results conducted by the nationally accredited testing agency FITI Testing & Research Institute, using the group meal frying solution can reduce kitchen staff's exposure to cooking fumes by more than 50%. Cooking fumes are smoke or high-concentration fine dust generated during cooking processes, especially when using high-temperature oil for frying or stir-frying.

Moreover, the group meal frying solution helps prevent musculoskeletal and respiratory diseases caused by repetitive motions and oil vapors, as well as heatstroke and burns.

A Doosan Robotics representative said, “Not only has the satisfaction of kitchen staff been confirmed, but safety has also been verified by accredited certification bodies, so we expect demand from schools wishing to introduce the group meal frying solution to increase.” They added, “We will continue to advance the solution to make it easily applicable to school group meals.”

Doosan Robotics, together with 977 Robotics, has previously supplied the group meal frying solution to Chuncheon Hanssem High School located in Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
