Development of Regional Signature Media Program
The Gyeongsang Education Donation Hub Support Center at Pukyong National University (Director: Lee Sanggil) operated the "Growing Up with Media - Little Explorers Traveling Through Media" program at Seokpo Elementary School in Busan from the 1st to the 12th of this month.
This program, developed in collaboration with the Busan Audience Media Center of the Korea Press Foundation, is a regional signature media program that allows students to experience the history, landmarks, notable figures, culture, and food of their neighborhood and region, and to create their own media content.
First-grade elementary school students who participated in the program learned about the definition of media, photography, information searching, video shooting, and video editing. They produced "Our Neighborhood Introduction Videos" and learned healthy ways to communicate through media, such as "likes," "recommendations," and "comments."
The Gyeongsang Education Donation Hub Support Center at Pukyong National University was selected this year as the operating institution for the "Neulbom School First Grade Customized Program." The center developed this program to help students in the Gyeongsang region deeply understand their community, contribute to the region in the future, and prevent youth outflow by learning about the unique characteristics of their area.
Based on its experience operating the Neulbom School first grade customized program in the first semester, the center plans to expand in the second semester by establishing Neulbom Education Hub Centers in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, operating Neulbom School education programs in more than 60 classes across 30 schools (a total of 1,800 sessions).
Pukyong National University’s Gyeongsang Education Donation Hub Support Center and the Busan Audience Media Center of the Korea Press Foundation, which signed a business agreement in March, plan to further expand their cooperation. This includes joint educational programs to activate education donation projects utilizing each institution’s educational infrastructure and to promote creative, integrative, and character education for students in the Gyeongsang region.
Pukyong National University and Busan City Viewer Media Center are operating media education for first graders at Neulbom School.
