Gwangjin-gu Breaks Through Economic Recession with 'Short-Form' Content

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will conduct a 'Short-Form Content Education for Small Business Market Expansion' to help local small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs develop sales channels and strengthen marketing capabilities.

'Short-form' refers to videos produced in under one minute, containing concise and intuitive content. Recently emerging as a global trend, the number of users has increased significantly, making it actively utilized in marketing as well. According to a survey by Korea Research, 75% of the population responded that they have watched short-form videos, indicating a booming short-form market. Effective online marketing through short-form content is now necessary.

Accordingly, the district will prepare a total of five short-form content education sessions at the Gwangjin Economic Hub Center from August 28 to September 11. Inviting professional instructors, the sessions will cover ▲ August 28: mastering short-form app functions and understanding editing sequences ▲ September 2: narration recording and background music editing ▲ September 4: intro editing and video extraction, sharing know-how related to video editing.

Additionally, 12 outstanding graduates will be selected to participate in an advanced course on September 9 and 11, which includes ▲ shooting equipment and angles ▲ short-form storyboard creation ▲ one-on-one customized consulting.

Applicants must be small business owners or prospective entrepreneurs with business locations in Gwangjin-gu. Forty participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gwangjin-gu Office website from August 16 to 27.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "This education program was prepared to provide practical help in resolving the management difficulties faced by small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs struggling due to the economic downturn," adding, "We will continue to explore various support measures to enhance the competitiveness of small business owners and help them successfully become self-reliant."
