The Department of Physical Therapy at Silla University (President: Heo Namsik) announced on the 15th that it had successfully completed physical therapy volunteer work and cultural exchange activities in Thailand.
Under the guidance of Professor Oh Taeyoung from the Department of Physical Therapy at Silla University, an overseas volunteer team consisting of 16 third- and fourth-year students visited Srisangwan Special School in Khon Kaen, Thailand (Principal: Supachai Prasertnoo) from July 20 to 29.
The volunteer group conducted activities such as teaching children with disabilities about body awareness, movement, and mobility, as well as cultural exchange activities by providing foods like Tteokbokki and salad to Thai students.
By presenting one-on-one physical therapy programs to Thai students and spending time interacting with them, they were able to form strong bonds and connections.
Jitlada Prasertnoo, a physical therapist working at Srisangwan Special School, said, "I am grateful that experts who learned advanced physical therapy in Korea applied it to children with disabilities, giving them hope and motivation."
Ji Eunbin, a third-year student in the Department of Physical Therapy at Silla University, said, "I am happy to have made a positive impact on the children in Thailand by making full use of what I learned at school," and added, "I hope this volunteer activity will continue next year as well."
Students from the Department of Physical Therapy at Silla University are volunteering overseas and taking a commemorative photo.
