Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) is recruiting honorary animal protection officers to establish a mature companion animal culture. Currently, four honorary animal protection officers are active in Seodaemun-gu, and six more will be appointed through this recruitment.


Honorary animal protection officers must be residents of Seodaemun-gu aged 18 or older who have completed mandatory training set by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Eligible applicants include ▲veterinarians or holders of livestock-related certificates ▲recommendations from animal organizations ▲majors in animal protection and welfare ▲those with extensive knowledge and experience in animal protection. Candidates will be selected through document screening, but if the number of qualified applicants exceeds the planned number of appointments, interviews will be conducted.


Seodaemun-gu honorary animal protection officers engage in activities such as ▲education and guidance on proper animal breeding and management ▲consultation and promotion related to animal protection and welfare ▲reporting animal abuse and providing information to prevent abuse ▲support for rescuing and protecting abused animals, and receive a fixed activity allowance.


Applicants can refer to the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the Seodaemun-gu Office website and submit the application form and related documents via email, visit, or mail by the 21st of this month.
