Gwangju City Architectural Landscape Department Staff, "Warm Hearts All Around"

‘Naeil-i Binnaneun Gongmuwon’ Award Prize
Full 1 Million KRW Donated to Dong-gu Orphanage

Employees of the Architecture and Landscape Division of Gwangju Metropolitan City donated the entire reward of 1 million KRW they received for being selected as ‘Tomorrow☆Shining Public Officials’ in the first half of this year to a childcare center in Dong-gu.

The Architecture and Landscape Division was recognized for its efforts in creating a ‘clean Gwangju without illegal banners’ by establishing measures such as operating a maintenance team and strengthening punishment standards, and was selected as Gwangju’s ‘Tomorrow☆Shining Public Officials’.

Since last year, the Architecture and Landscape Division, together with the district advertising teams, established and implemented a ‘Special Maintenance Plan for Illegal Banners’ to create clean streets without illegal banners that had been proliferating.

The employees of the Architecture and Landscape Division said, "As Gwangju City and the districts actively worked to carry out these tasks, illegal banners on the streets have decreased. We were honored to receive the Tomorrow☆Shining Public Officials Award in recognition of these achievements," adding, "Along with the joy of receiving the award, the employees donated the reward money to the childcare center, which made the occasion even more meaningful."

Meanwhile, the ‘Tomorrow☆Shining Public Officials’ award in the 8th term of the elected government is a newly established reward system to invigorate an organizational culture of innovation, change, and communication. Candidates are finally selected through a process of candidate verification → survey → employee evaluation panel.
