Ninetech, a specialized company in secondary battery and IT material parts equipment, announced on the 14th that it achieved a cumulative sales revenue of 67.2 billion KRW for the first half of the year on a consolidated basis, marking a 3.4% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit was 480 million KRW, and net profit was 730 million KRW. In the second half of the year, significant performance growth is expected due to high profitability from projects and improved subsidiary results.
The driving force behind Ninetech's performance this year is its secondary battery equipment. The company mainly produces lamination and stacking equipment for the secondary battery assembly process. In particular, the lamination equipment and electrode supply equipment demonstrated their technological capabilities by signing a supply contract worth 61.4 billion KRW with LG Electronics last year.
In addition to equipment, Ninetech is focusing on securing future growth engines by expanding new businesses across the entire battery sector, including materials. Currently, it is building a portfolio in areas such as thermoelectric cooling and power generation, dry electrode process equipment, and used battery recycling business.
A Ninetech representative stated, “With deliveries to major customers in the North American region starting this year, we expect this to be our best year yet,” adding, “Especially from the second half of the year, as deliveries of project equipment for North America, including Canada, commence, we anticipate achieving the originally targeted performance.”
