Mokwon University Hosts 'Performance Content Planning Incubating Camp'

Mokwon University announced on the 14th that its College of Music's Department of Performance Content will hold the nation's first "Performance Content Planning Incubating Camp" among universities nationwide.

The camp will be held on the 16th at Mokwon University College of Music, hosted by the Department of Performance Content and the University Innovation Headquarters, and organized by the PDs Group. Both university and high school students can participate in the camp.

The PDs Group, which is organizing the camp, is a platform for freelance producers (supplying cultural and artistic personnel), consisting of creative producers, production PDs, and company managers who work together as a specialized performance planning group.

The camp will be centered around expert lectures by specialists in various fields and practical performance site visits. The lectures will be conducted by top domestic performance planners in the fields of classical music, musicals, and popular music.

The lecturers include ▲ Hyojin Kim, Head of Credia Performance Planning Team (Classical Performance: Finding a Path at the Intersection of Art and Business) ▲ Seunghee Choi, Head of Public Relations Team at Synch Musical Company (Musical Promotion: The Beginning of Marketing) ▲ Suyeon Kim, Head of YES24 Performance Planning Team (The Golden Egg of K-pop: Becoming a Popular Music Planner).

The opera "La Traviata" performance and backstage tour at Sejong Arts Center are expected to be the highlights of the camp. This program will take place after watching the opera performance, followed by a backstage tour where participants will receive explanations related to stage art.

Mokwon University expects that this process will help students participating in the camp gain a practical understanding of the performance planning and production process.

Park Moonhee, Head of the Department of Performance Content at Mokwon University, said, "I hope this camp will be a valuable experience for students dreaming of becoming future performance planners," adding, "Mokwon University will support camp participants in developing expertise through experiencing the entire performance planning process."

Recently, Mokwon University established the Department of Performance Content and newly introduced a major in performance content planning. This department operates in conjunction with the existing vocal and musical majors, which are recognized as the best cultural and artistic incubators in the central region, focusing on nurturing future performance planners through the progressive transformation of the vocal and musical departments.
