Gyeonggi-do Integrated Defense Association to Hold Meeting on 14th... Police and Fire Departments to Attend Afternoon Seok, the 2nd Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, is presiding over the Integrated Defense Council on the 14th.

Gyeonggi Province held the "2024 Eulji Exercise-linked Gyeonggi Province Integrated Defense Council" at 2 p.m. on the 14th in the Disaster and Safety Situation Room of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Gwanggyo Building.


On this day, the Integrated Defense Council, chaired by Oh Hu-seok, the 2nd Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, was attended by 25 members who shared the preparation status for the Eulji Exercise.


The Integrated Defense Council includes ex officio members such as military, police, and fire departments, as well as appointed members who are officials from important local institutions.


The meeting began with a report from the National Intelligence Service Gyeonggi Branch on recent security situations and trends in threats to South Korea, followed by reports on the Eulji Exercise plans from the Capital Corps and each institution, discussions on protection plans for residents near high-risk facilities, and topic discussions on institutional response measures in case of increased provocations from North Korea.


The Integrated Defense Council is a meeting that establishes and implements integrated defense measures according to the concept of total national defense, integrating and operating national defense elements to prepare for enemy infiltration, provocations, or threats thereof. It is divided into regular and extraordinary meetings, with regular meetings held once quarterly.


Meanwhile, this year’s Eulji Exercise will be conducted over 3 nights and 4 days from the 19th to the 22nd. During the training period, Gyeonggi Province will operate a "Comprehensive War Situation Room" within the Chungmu facility of the provincial government building to establish an organic cooperation system among civilians, government, military, and police, supporting situation dissemination and integrated defense operations.
