Magok Senior Welfare Center Donation, Moa Town Special Case No. 1, etc.
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) announced on the 14th that it has selected the ‘Top 5 Cases of Proactive Administration for the First Half of 2024.’
The selected outstanding cases include ▲the realization of donation and acceptance for Magok Senior Welfare Center ▲the establishment of the first Moa Housing Association applying the Moa Town special ordinance ▲the introduction of the ‘Comprehensive Childcare Map’ app at a glance ▲the expansion of the street vendor permit system ▲and the address segmentation project for Gangseo Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market.
The donation and acceptance for Magok Senior Welfare Center is a case where public-private cooperation led to corporate donation and prompt groundbreaking to resolve the long-standing issue of building a senior welfare center in the Magok district.
The establishment of the Moa Housing Association is the first approval applying the Moa Town special ordinance. The ordinance was applied to the Hagok-dong area, which urgently needed improvements due to aging buildings and severe parking shortages, boldly exempting the street block requirements necessary for the street housing maintenance project. This has accelerated the progress of the Moa Town project.
The Comprehensive Childcare Map at a glance is an online integrated map system providing information on childbirth and childcare-related facilities within the district. It allows easy access to information on public childcare facilities, kids cafes, and emergency medical facilities.
Additionally, the permit system was implemented to incorporate 40-year-old street vendors near Woljeong Elementary School into the formal system, and the address segmentation project assigned separate addresses to buildings and stores within the Gangseo Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market.
The district selects administrative cases that contribute to improving residents’ convenience through creative work promotion every year in the first and second halves. In the first half of this year, a total of 20 cases were submitted, and 5 were selected after comprehensive evaluation of resident impact, staff expertise, and task difficulty.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “Proactive administration is essential to meet the diverse administrative needs of residents,” adding, “We will strengthen the discovery and support of outstanding cases to create a proactive working atmosphere.”
