On-Site Safety Consulting, Focused Inspection on Securing Evacuation Routes
Fire Prevention Measures..."Thorough Safety Investigation Underway"
The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Fire Headquarters (Chief Lee Osuk) will conduct fire safety inspections at 22 related facilities in preparation for the 'World Korean Business Convention,' which will be held over three days starting October 22.
According to Jeonbuk Fire on the 14th, the inspection targets include 15 event venues such as Samsung Culture Hall and Jeonju Indoor Gymnasium, where the opening and closing ceremonies are scheduled, as well as four terminals and railway stations, and three hotels designated as official accommodations.

The main inspection items are ▲whether fire-fighting facilities are installed and managed according to the Firefighting Facilities Act and fire safety standards ▲checking for closure or locking of emergency exits and obstacles placed in evacuation stairs and passageways ▲inspection and guidance on the performance of fire safety management duties by related personnel, including the preparation of fire plans.
Since a large crowd is expected at the event-related facilities, to prevent casualties in case of fire or other disasters, the plan is to focus on ▲consulting on initial fire response procedures centered on the fire station chief and instructions on the use of fire-fighting facilities for event personnel ▲confirming whether evacuation plans are established and ensuring the securing of two-way evacuation routes in case of disaster.
In September, inspections will be conducted at four locations, including two event venues such as Samsung Culture Hall and Lahan Hotel, and two hotels, in cooperation with related organizations. Professional fire officers such as fire facility managers will be mobilized to conduct thorough fire prevention activities through a wide-area fire safety investigation.
The exhibition hall (a dome tent structure temporary facility) to be completed in October will also undergo safety inspections by seven days before the start of the event.
Based on the results of this fire safety inspection, the Fire Headquarters plans to take legal actions such as filing charges, imposing fines, and issuing corrective orders for violations. Administrative guidance will be promoted to ensure that any deficiencies are corrected before the event opens.
Kim Hyuncheol, Director of the Prevention and Safety Division, stated, "We will conduct thorough fire safety inspections from the perspective of fire prevention to ensure the successful hosting of the World Korean Business Convention, a large-scale international event held in our region."
