CMLink Service Launch... Promotion Underway
China Mobile Number Reception... Data Usage in China
SK Telink, in collaboration with SK Telecom and China Mobile's global business company CMI, launched a service on the 14th that allows simultaneous use in Korea and China with a single SIM card.
Currently, to use various financial services in China, authentication procedures based on a Chinese mobile phone number are required. To this end, Chinese nationals residing outside China have had to carry a separate phone with a local Chinese SIM card or swap to a Chinese SIM card whenever necessary, enduring considerable inconvenience. It is known that nearly one million Chinese nationals reside in Korea.
To reduce this inconvenience, SK Telink and SK Telecom launched the 'CMLink' service. CMLink is a service that allows voice calls and SMS sent to a China Mobile number to be received on a linked Korean number without additional roaming or international call charges. SK Telecom customers can subscribe for 5,500 KRW per month regardless of their plan.
Customers who already have a China Mobile number can also link it to receive calls on a Korean number.
The monthly basic allowance includes 10 minutes of voice calls and 250 SMS messages. Additionally, 3GB of mobile data is provided monthly, enabling users to use the same services in China without restrictions as they do in Korea. Furthermore, 30 minutes of international calls are provided each month, allowing high-quality calls to local Chinese government offices or customer centers, where calls via social applications are not possible.
To commemorate the launch of the new service, SK Telink is running a special promotion until October 31, significantly increasing the basic allowances of the CMLink service to 100 minutes of Korean call forwarding voice, 500 SMS messages, 50 minutes of international calls (00780), and 300MB of local Chinese data per day, with unlimited use at 400Kbps speed after exhaustion.
CMLink subscriptions are available through T World, agencies, and customer centers. SK Telink and Pritelcom are releasing CMLink as a partnership plan, and subscriptions can be made via the SK Seven Mobile website or designated sales points of each company.
Kim Gwangju, head of SK Telink's MVNO business, said, "We will continue to actively introduce services and systems that customers want together with SK Telecom and continuously offer products reflecting customer-tailored benefits."
