CEO Jeong Hong-geun Presents Goals in Internal Post

Jung Hong-geun, CEO of T'way Air, emphasized the company's commitment to becoming a safe and reliable airline on the occasion of its 14th anniversary.

On the 14th, T'way Air announced that CEO Jung presented this goal. In an internal post on the same day, CEO Jung stated, "All employees must always strive to strictly adhere to safety measures so that we can grow into an airline trusted by our customers," adding, "Everyone should understand and communicate with each other at the pace of change, and start anew from myself to take steps toward becoming a 'safe and reliable airline'." Along with this, 96 employees with 10 years of long-term service who contributed to the company's continuous growth were also rewarded.

T'way Air will celebrate its 14th anniversary on the 16th. Since its first flight in 2010, it has continuously expanded its domestic and international short- and medium-haul routes based at Gimpo and Incheon Airports. At the '2025 Vision Declaration Ceremony' held in June 2017, the company expressed its intention to operate long-haul routes by introducing medium- and large-sized aircraft and exploring overseas markets.

After Korean Air merged with Asiana Airlines, T'way Air has been actively increasing long-haul routes such as European routes using the slots it received. It already started flights to Sydney, Australia in December 2022, Zagreb, Croatia from May 16, 2024, and Rome, Italy on August 8 this year. It plans to launch routes to Paris, France on the 28th, Barcelona, Spain on the 11th of next month, and Frankfurt, Germany on October 3.

As CEO Jung emphasized safety, T'way Air plans to significantly increase its safety investments. This year, it will invest 570 billion KRW in safety, about 130% more than the previous year, and plans to invest 600 billion KRW next year.

To improve the safety management system, the company will seek consulting from external audit organizations to evaluate and improve its safety culture and flight operation system. In the long term, it plans to build a hangar near Incheon Airport after 2027, which is not yet owned by any low-cost carrier (LCC).

A T'way Air official said, "Despite the COVID-19 crisis, the long-haul routes we dreamed of are becoming a reality one by one as we celebrate T'way Air's 14th anniversary," adding, "With a new determination and attitude, we will do our best to prioritize safe operations and enhance customer trust and satisfaction."
