HD Hyundai Receives '2024 Korea Best Enterprise Award'

Selected by the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration... Recognized for International Competitiveness and Social Contribution

HD Hyundai has been selected as the recipient of the '2024 Korea Best Enterprise Award.'


HD Hyundai announced on the 14th that it received the Korea Best Enterprise Award at the 26th Korean Academic Society of Business Administration Convergence Conference held recently at the Hwa-baek Convention Center in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk.


The Korea Best Enterprise Award by the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration is given based on a comprehensive evaluation of various criteria including ▲outstanding management performance and continuous achievements ▲reputation and prestige in academia and among the public ▲international recognition and status ▲commitment to corporate ethics, management transparency, and social contribution. The award started in 2003 and is now in its 22nd year. The Best Enterprise Award is recognized for its objectivity and authority as it is selected directly by highly specialized business scholars.


HD Hyundai explained, "We were highly evaluated for overcoming crises with a spirit of challenge and pioneering, creating new value, laying the foundation for national economic growth, and dramatically enhancing international competitiveness." HD Hyundai began its shipbuilding business in 1972 at Ulsan Mipo Bay and has grown into a global comprehensive heavy industries group. Currently, it operates its business around three core pillars: shipbuilding and offshore, energy (refining, electrical and electronics, solar power), and industrial machinery (construction machinery, robots), contributing to the development of the national economy.


HD Hyundai Receives '2024 Korea Best Enterprise Award' On the 13th, at the 26th Korea Academy of Management Convergence Conference held at the Hwaback Convention Center in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, Kim Seong-jun, CEO of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, received the "Korea Best Enterprise Award" on behalf of HD Hyundai and is taking a commemorative photo.

HD Hyundai was also recognized for its efforts in supporting underprivileged groups and innovating corporate culture to contribute to work-family balance. HD Hyundai employees donate 1% of their salaries to establish the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation, which utilizes 8 billion KRW annually to extend warmth to neighbors. The company operates various family-friendly systems such as on-site daycare centers, child care leave programs, pregnancy and childbirth congratulatory funds, and child-rearing support, leading the way in creating a workplace where people want to work.


Kim Sung-jun, CEO of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore representing HD Hyundai at the award ceremony, said, "The award given by scholars studying business management makes its meaning even greater," adding, "We will maintain our status as the best enterprise by leading the global market with a challenging and innovative attitude."


Meanwhile, at the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration Innovation Management Award ceremony held on the 12th, Cho Seok, CEO of HD Hyundai Electric, was selected as the recipient. CEO Cho was recognized for his management capabilities that transcend existing paradigms, including ▲efficiency improvement in work and cost structure through management innovation programs ▲targeting the future power transmission and distribution market using eco-friendly and digital technologies ▲entry into the domestic offshore wind power business.
