Support for AI and Advanced Science Technology-Based Convergence Science Education Programs for Students and Residents
Joint Hosting of the 2024 Gwanak Youth Festival '3rd Cheongajeul' and Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Convergence Science Education Center's 'Seoul Convergence Science, Math, and Maker Festival'
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is making every effort to foster future-oriented scientific talents among youth by promoting convergence science education.
On August 13, the district signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Convergence Science Education Center (Director Oh Seong-hwan).
Through this agreement, both organizations will jointly promote ▲ the Gwanak Youth Festival ‘Cheong-A-Jul’ and the ‘Seoul Convergence Science · Mathematics · Maker Festival’ ▲ development of AI and advanced science technology-based convergence science education programs for students, teachers, parents, and local residents ▲ mutual sharing and utilization of infrastructure to activate creative and convergence education and ecological transition education.
As the first step of mutual cooperation, the two organizations will jointly host the 3rd Gwanak Youth Festival ‘Cheong-A-Jul’ and the ‘Seoul Convergence Science · Mathematics · Maker Festival’.
‘Cheong-A-Jul’ is an abbreviation of ‘a festival where youth enjoy without any worries,’ planned and participated in directly by youth, and will be conducted in various forms suitable for the ‘MZ generation customized festival.’
The Gwanak Youth Festival ‘Cheong-A-Jul’ is scheduled to be held around Nakseongdae Park on October 25 and 26, and it is expected to become even more abundant by meeting the ‘Seoul Convergence Science · Mathematics · Maker Festival.’
The festival will be filled with about 120 math and science experience and exhibition booths operated directly by Seoul’s elementary, middle, and high school students, a nationwide youth club competition, a performance by the robot Titan, science magic shows, and more.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “By utilizing the excellent scientific infrastructure of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Convergence Science Education Center, we can provide richer and deeper science education to youth in the region,” adding, “We will continue to do our best so that the youth, the future of Gwanak, can freely pursue their dreams.”
