Lee Dong-chae's Pardon Brings EcoPro "Employees United to Secure Growth Engine"

On the 13th, Ecopro expressed its welcome as former Ecopro Chairman Lee Dong-chae was included in the government's special pardon and reinstatement list for Liberation Day.

On the same day, Ecopro stated regarding Lee's pardon, "Taking this pardon as an opportunity, all employees will unite and do their best to establish future growth engines for the secondary battery business, a national advanced strategic project." However, Ecopro did not comment on the timing of Lee's return to management.

Previously, Lee was indicted on charges of violating the Capital Markets and Financial Investment Business Act, among others, for making about 1.1 billion KRW in capital gains by buying and selling stocks through nominee accounts using undisclosed information. He was sentenced to two years in prison and is currently serving his sentence.

Amid a challenging management environment recently due to the electric vehicle chasm (temporary demand stagnation), Lee is expected to return to the forefront of management after the pardon, focusing on reassessing business strategies such as investment speed and discovering future growth engines.
