On the 13th (local time), Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claimed that the United States is trying to replace Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to Russian news agencies such as TASS, the SVR stated in a press release that dissatisfaction with President Zelensky is growing among the American elite, and they are "working on a plan to replace him with someone easier to manage, less corrupt, and more suitable for Western allies."
The SVR added, "Zelensky is taking reckless actions that could worsen the situation far beyond Ukraine's borders."
The SVR claims that the United States is considering former Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov as a candidate to replace President Zelensky.
In particular, the SVR revealed that there are discussions about a scenario to discredit President Zelensky and hand power over to former Minister Avakov.
The SVR also issued a statement last May when President Zelensky's original term expired, saying that the United States was searching for a replacement.
