This aims to establish a collaborative system among the National Assembly, political parties, and local governments to improve institutional frameworks for balanced national development and local autonomy, as the need for faster policy implementation by local governments is growing to quickly address national challenges such as regional extinction, low birth rates and aging population, and the climate crisis.
Kang Ki-jung, Mayor of Gwangju, stated, "Cooperation from the National Assembly and political parties is necessary for regional development," adding, "Since Gwangju excels in artificial intelligence (AI) industry and cultural capabilities, please join us to make Gwangju shine."
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, said, "It would be good to sign a policy agreement with Gwangju City," and added, "We will work together to make Gwangju better."
On this day, Gwangju City requested active national budget support from Leader Han for securing future regional growth engines, including ▲ joint cooperation to enshrine the spirit of May 18 in the preamble of the Constitution ▲ establishment of the 2nd phase of the AI Demonstration Valley ▲ construction of a city-scale domestic AI semiconductor real-world verification support center ▲ establishment of a joint utilization platform to support the development of core parts for future automobiles.
