Pharmicell announced on the 13th that it achieved an operating profit of 2.2 billion KRW in the second quarter, a 289% increase compared to 570 million KRW in the same period last year. Sales amounted to 17.8 billion KRW.
Sales and operating profit for the first half of the year recorded 28.7 billion KRW and 200 million KRW, respectively. The company succeeded in turning operating profit positive compared to the first quarter.
The main sales driver was mPEG, used as a drug delivery technology carrier for protein new drugs, which increased by 21% year-on-year to 4.6 billion KRW. Additionally, low dielectric constant materials also grew by 75%, reaching 8.9 billion KRW. Copper clad laminate (CCL) applying low dielectric constant materials is utilized in artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators.
As global companies are building data centers, the growth potential of low dielectric constant materials is highly valued.
A Pharmicell representative stated, “Based on securing competitiveness in active pharmaceutical ingredients and the strong performance of low dielectric constant materials, we will continue solid results in the second half of the year.” He added, “We will also focus on the growth of the newly launched beauty brand ‘Play Cell.’”
