Permanent Exhibition Hall Remodeling Opens on the 23rd
"Exploring Future Directions Together with Citizens"
The Sosu Museum in Yeongju will hold the "Permanent Exhibition Hall Remodeling Opening and 20th Anniversary Academic Conference" on the 23rd.
This academic conference has been organized to invite citizens, local experts, and related researchers to celebrate the reopening of the main permanent exhibition hall of the Sosu Museum, reflect on and evaluate the past 20 years, and explore future directions for development.
The first part will consist of the opening ceremony of the permanent exhibition hall and a tour of the exhibition, while the second part will feature the academic conference (opening, congratulatory remarks, four keynote presentations, comprehensive discussion, and closing) held in the exhibition hall and seminar room of the Sosu Museum, respectively.
The academic conference presentations will include: ▲ "Current Status of Seowon Materials and the Role of Sosu Museum" (Professor Emeritus Lee Suhwan, Yeungnam University) ▲ "The Value and Challenges of Records Held by Sosu Museum" (Professor Emeritus Nam Kwonhee, Kyungpook National University) ▲ "Research Discoveries and Vision for Yeongju Regional History" (Professor Kang Guyul, Dongyang University) ▲ "Status and Development Strategies of Sosu Museum" (Director Kim Chungbae, Heojun Museum).
The comprehensive discussion will be chaired by Professor Lee Hansang of Daejeon University, with designated panelists including Professor Emeritus Woo Insu of Kyungpook National University, Deputy Director Jang Injin of Hanganghak Research Institute, Professor Song Hosang of Dongyang University, and Senior Researcher Kim Taesik of the National Land Cultural Heritage Research Institute, who will each address the topics presented.
The results of the discussions will be summarized and supplemented after the conference, and published and distributed as the Sosu Museum Academic Series in December.

The permanent exhibition hall of the Sosu Museum began its remodeling project in 2021, with a total project cost of approximately 3.6 billion KRW, to introduce new exhibition techniques and change the storyline, and was completed in July 2024.
