In his inaugural speech, Chairman Sim stated, “We will solidly carry out the agency’s core tasks, including in-situ and ex-situ conservation of forest biological resources, promotion of garden culture and industry, contributing to national policy goals such as climate change response and enhancement of forest biodiversity.” He added, “The public-private ESG cooperation projects promoted by Hansujeong as a platform institution for arboretums and gardens will play a role in driving coexistence and development among the public, local communities, and private enterprises.”
Meanwhile, Hansujeong is a public institution under the Korea Forest Service, established in 2017. Currently, Hansujeong operates three national arboretums representing different climate and vegetation zones: the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum, the National Sejong Arboretum, and the National Korean Native Plant Arboretum.
