Up to 9 Selected in 5 Categories Including Community Development and Resident Harmony Volunteer Work
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) is accepting nominations for the "28th Gangseo Citizen Award" until the 30th of this month to find proud citizens who have brightened Gangseo this year.
The Gangseo Citizen Award is given to citizens and organizations who have dedicated themselves to community harmony and regional development. The award categories include ▲Community Development ▲Citizen Harmony and Volunteerism ▲Environmental Protection ▲Culture and Sports Development ▲Morality and Good Conduct (such as filial piety and good deeds). Up to 9 recipients will be selected, including one grand prize winner. Generally, one recipient is chosen per category, but if there are many outstanding candidates, up to two may be selected.
Nominees must have continuously resided in Gangseo-gu for at least three years as of October 13 this year, or be organizations (including businesses) within the district with notable achievements in their respective categories. Nominations can be submitted by visiting or mailing a recommendation letter signed by at least 20 residents to the local community service center or the relevant department for each category. Candidates will undergo fact-finding and review by the Public Merit Review Committee before final selection. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the "22nd Heo Jun Festival" on October 13. Award recipients will receive benefits such as priority invitations to various events hosted by the district and preferential recommendations for government commendations and awards.
The Gangseo Citizen Award was first established in 1997, and to date, a total of 218 residents and organizations, including 23 grand prize winners, have been honored.
