A famous Brazilian influencer has shocked people by revealing herself applying her own feces to her face, claiming it is good for the skin.
On the 12th, the New York Post reported, "Brazilian influencer Debora Feixoto (31) posted a video on her Instagram showing her skincare routine using a 'feces face mask'." In the video, Debora described the 'feces face mask' as "the craziest thing I've ever done in my life. It feels like putting farts on my face, but I'll give it a try."
The video shows Debora taking a container of feces from the refrigerator, scooping the hardened feces with a spatula, and evenly spreading it all over her face. During this process, she pinched her nose with a clothespin, seemingly struggling to endure the smell of her own feces. After washing her face with water, she claimed, "It works. My skin is not rough."
However, experts pointed out that there is no scientific evidence supporting the effects of a 'feces face mask' and that it may actually cause skin rashes and other issues.
Sophie Momen, a dermatologist at Cadogan Plastic Surgery Hospital in the UK, told the New York Post in an interview, "There have been many skincare trends so far, but this is truly an unimaginable method. Using feces on the face is scientifically not beneficial for the skin at all. It can make the skin vulnerable to bacterial infections due to the excrement and cause redness on the skin." Plastic surgeon Dr. Tunc Tiryaki also expressed concern, saying, "Feces contain numerous bacteria, viruses, and parasites, including E. coli, Salmonella, and nematodes. This can lead to serious infections and diseases."
Netizens reacted to the video with shock, commenting, "People will do anything to make money," "It looks like poison on the face," "Surely it's just pretending to be feces," "The world is crazy," "Feels like my face smells," and "Please tell me this is fake."
Debora is a well-known influencer with 2.7 million TikTok followers. The video has recorded over 300,000 views.
