The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 13th that it will hold the 12th ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Certification Forum as a web seminar on the 21st.
The goal of this forum is to compare and analyze domestic and international standards for calculating greenhouse gas emissions and to review climate-related disclosure standards of major countries, thereby deriving implications for domestic sustainability disclosure standards.

Additionally, the forum will analyze the commonalities and differences in greenhouse gas emission calculation and disclosure requirements among the European Union (EU)'s European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)'s climate disclosure rules, and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)'s International Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1, S2), which serve as baselines for other major countries.
In the comprehensive discussion session, Professor Gyu-an Jeon of Soongsil University will serve as the chair, with panelists including ▲Eunhae Go, Head of Sustainvest ▲Ta-il Yoon, Manager at KB Insurance ▲Seungpil Lee, Team Leader at Yuhan-Kimberly ▲Oksu Lee, Partner at Anjin Accounting Corporation ▲Woonghee Lee, Standing Commissioner at the Korean Accounting Standards Board ▲Jinkyu Lee, Partner at Samil Accounting Corporation.
Choi Un-yeol, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, stated, "Through this forum, we aim to help companies and information users better understand the calculation and disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions and clarify the direction our country's sustainability disclosure standards should take. We expect to review the preparations companies need to make in anticipation of mandatory disclosures and explore practical response measures."
Pre-registration for the forum is available through the announcement window and notice section on the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants website. After the forum, the lecture videos will be uploaded on the Institute's Accounting Training Center and YouTube channel.
