The Dental Clinic Named After 'Gangnam Station' Was Owned by Yoon-ah Kim's Husband from Jaurim

Record High Price for Paid Station Name Co-Branding Project

The name of a dental clinic where Kim Hyung-kyu, the husband of rock band Jaurim's vocalist Kim Yoon-ah, works has been added to the name of Gangnam Station on Seoul Subway Line 2, which boasts a high foot traffic. Haru Plant Dental Clinic, where Kim Hyung-kyu works, won the bid for the 'paid station name addition' at Gangnam Station for 1.111 billion KRW.

As a result of the paid station name addition bid held from the 25th of last month to the 6th of this month, 4 out of 10 stations on Lines 1 to 8, including Gangnam Station on Line 2, were awarded. The winning bid of 1.111 billion KRW for Gangnam Station is the highest ever in this project. The previous highest bid was 870 million KRW for Shinhan Card at Euljiro 3-ga Station on Lines 2 and 3, but Gangnam Station surpassed it with this bid.

Station name addition refers to adding a secondary station name to the existing station name of a subway station. The secondary name can be displayed on 10 types of targets including pole sign station name plates, entrance station name plates, platform station name plates, safety door station name plates, single and comprehensive route maps on safety doors, and single route maps on trains.

Kim Hyung-kyu, husband of Kim Yoon-ah, graduated from Seoul National University College of Dentistry and worked as a VJ in the entertainment industry before opening his dental clinic.

Kim Yoon-ah appeared on the YouTube channel 'Achim Meokgo Ga 2' in June and revealed her 140-pyeong (approx. 462 sqm) house. When the MC asked, "Do you feel stability thanks to your dentist husband?" she said, "I have about 290 songs with copyrights," and added, "From the moment I first met Kim Hyung-kyu until today, he has never earned more than me. I think Kim Hyung-kyu must be feeling stable."

Kim Yoon-ah debuted in 1997 with the group Jaurim and gained recognition by singing OSTs for famous films such as 'A Man Holding Flowers' and 'One Fine Spring Day.' She is known to be responsible for most of Jaurim's lyrics and compositions. She married in 2006 and has a son.
