VT Achieves 51 Billion KRW Operating Profit in H1... 313% Increase YoY

VT announced on the 12th that its cumulative operating profit on a consolidated basis for the first half of this year reached 51 billion KRW, marking a 313% increase compared to the same period last year.

In the second quarter of this year, consolidated sales amounted to 113.4 billion KRW, a 52% increase year-on-year, and operating profit rose 131% year-on-year to 27 billion KRW.

On a separate basis, sales also increased by 70% year-on-year to 68.8 billion KRW, and operating profit recorded 20 billion KRW, up 247% from the previous year. VT is being recognized as having firmly established itself as a cosmetic company by surpassing a 61% share of cosmetics sales alongside sales growth, thanks to the success of its bestseller, Riddle Shot.

In particular, the second quarter showed strong performance in home shopping, one of the new domestic channels. VT, which has emerged as a major player in the beauty industry, has continued its sold-out streak since launching the "PDRN Riddle Shot" (a home shopping exclusive product) on CJ OnStyle, led by the Choi Hwajung Show. While Riddle Shot had previously stood out among young consumers in their 20s and 30s through existing sales channels, it has also received great response from the main target group of 40-60-year-olds in the new home shopping channel, successfully expanding its consumer age base.

VT plans to expand its product lineup by newly launching the ‘TX Toning Line’ as a new follow-up line. The TX Toning Line, also known as the ‘applicable toning shot,’ is a high-concentration functional product utilizing a high-purity triple toning complex (tranexamic acid, glutathione, niacinamide). It helps to cultivate clear skin by caring for blemishes and spots. This line is expected to be launched on Olive Young’s online mall as early as August.

Meanwhile, VT plans to complete vertical integration of its cosmetic affiliates by acquiring shares of VT Cube Japan during the third quarter, thereby establishing a Japanese subsidiary.
