1 Night 2 Days at Gwangyang Bonggang Glamping Site
Recreation, Fire Pit Experience, Communication Paper Writing, etc.
POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Dong-ryeol) held a 1-night, 2-day glamping program at a glamping site located in Bonggang, Gwangyang, where employees and their middle school children could spend time together, creating precious family memories.
This glamping event was organized by Gwangyang Steelworks to provide employees with an opportunity to communicate with their children, create valuable memories, and offer a refreshing break, thereby fostering a happy workplace where work and life are balanced.
Employees and their children are participating in a team competition recreation event during the 2-day, 1-night glamping event held by Gwangyang Steelworks.
In particular, the event was designed for employees with middle school children entering adolescence, aiming to help parents and their children understand each other better and encourage natural physical bonding.
With around 60 participants, the glamping event featured a variety of programs that reportedly brought both fun and emotional experiences to the employee families.
Gwangyang Steelworks planned activities such as children's MBTI tests, fire pit experiences, and communication paper writing to encourage sincere communication within families and provide time to learn more about each other.
Additionally, employees and their children engaged in team recreation activities like word quizzes and relay games to share emotional connections. Outdoor movie screenings, trekking, badminton, and board games were also arranged to offer diverse activities suitable for families of various ages to enjoy the event more fully.
On the second day of the event, a one-day baking class was held, allowing employees and their children to experience baking and pastry-making together, something they usually do not get to try.
Kim Hyun-sung, a manager in the Gwangyang Steelworks Ironmaking Department who participated in the program, said, “Thanks to the company preparing such a great program, I was able to create unforgettable precious memories with my children over the course of 1 night and 2 days. It was a time to enjoy fun activities together and have sincere conversations, which helped me understand my children more deeply.”
Meanwhile, following the glamping program held in early March for employees with elementary school children and their families, Gwangyang Steelworks plans to implement various one-day class programs in the second half of this year, such as learning to make infused liquor and perfume with employees and their spouses. These diverse programs aim to create a happy workplace where work and life are balanced through multifaceted support for employee families.
