1263 Medical Institutions to Provide Data to Medical Data Platform by Next Year
Starting next year, it will become easier to access personal medical data held by tertiary hospitals.
According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 12th, users of the medical data platform "Health Information Highway" will be able to check their personal medical data held by all 47 tertiary hospitals nationwide starting from the second half of next year.
The Health Information Highway is a government-operated medical data intermediary system. It collects medical records scattered across public institutions such as the National Health Insurance Service and various affiliated medical institutions, allowing patients to view their information at a glance. Users can check diagnoses, prescriptions, diagnostic and pathology tests, surgical histories, and provide this information to the doctors who treat them.
Currently, a total of 860 medical institutions participate, including 10 tertiary hospitals, 12 general hospitals, and 838 clinics and hospitals. Starting next month, an additional 16 tertiary hospitals, 12 general hospitals, and 116 clinics and hospitals will join. Next year, 21 tertiary hospitals, 28 general hospitals, and 210 clinics and hospitals have expressed their intention to participate, bringing the total number of institutions providing data to the Health Information Highway to 1,263.
