Daejeon Dong-gu District Office held a welcoming event for Jeon Hayoung, who won a silver medal in the women's sabre team event at the Paris Olympics, at the Hongdodong Administrative Welfare Center on the 12th.


The ceremony was attended by Park Heejo, the district mayor, Oh Gwanyoung, the chairman of the district council, Jeon Hayoung and her mother Han Sunhwa, as well as local residents who came to offer their congratulations.


Jeon Hayoung, a native of Hongdodong in Dong-gu, teamed up with Yoon Jisu (Seoul City Hall), Jeon Eunhye (Incheon Jung-gu District Office), and Choi Saebin (Jeonnam Provincial Office) to win the first-ever silver medal in the women's sabre team event at the Paris Olympics.


Park Heejo said, "I am truly delighted that Jeon Hayoung, who prepared for each Olympic match with a sense of duty to represent her country and worked so hard, has achieved such a precious and meaningful result. As she is an athlete with a promising future, I am confident that even better results will come next time."
