BNK Busan Bank Holds '4-Minute Miracle' CPR Training for Employees

Held a total of six times with about 100 participants each session

Automated external defibrillators delivered to five child care facilities

BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) held a CPR training session for executives, employees, and their families on the 10th at the headquarters Sky Hall, in cooperation with S-1, a security specialist company and a CPR certification training institution accredited by the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

The training, which was attended by over 100 participants, will be held a total of six times until October 5. In 2016, this training was also conducted over six months, with more than 1,400 people completing the course.

The training program included ▲theory of cardiopulmonary resuscitation ▲hands-on chest compression practice ▲how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), with experiential learning and practical exercises to enhance response capabilities in real-life situations.

It is known that performing emergency CPR within four minutes (the golden time) after cardiac arrest more than doubles the survival rate. However, according to data released by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency in 2023, only 29.8% of patients received CPR before arriving at the hospital.

In addition, Busan Bank delivered AEDs worth a total of 15 million KRW to five local children's and youth facilities through the Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea Busan Branch.

Kang Seokrae, Head of Management Strategy Division at Busan Bank, said, "Since many customers visit our bank counters every day, we organized this training to help protect precious lives by responding immediately to various emergencies that may occur in daily life," and added, "Busan Bank will continue to make efforts to build a social safety net."
