Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Encourages Foreign Tourists to Visit Local Areas

Eleven 'Local Tourism Specialized Products' Launched

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Visit Year Committee announced on the 12th that they will launch eleven 'regional tourism specialized products' that allow foreign tourists to enjoy the diverse charms of local areas.

These include 'Discover Korea Nationwide Tour 7 Days', 'Hallyeosudo Sea Travel 4 Days', 'Must-Visit K-pop Nationwide Tour 5 Days', 'Since I Was Born, Korea Tour', 'Gangneung X Donghae, This Is the Trend Nowadays', and 'Sojuori'.


Each product was planned through contests and other means, and developed with consulting from regional tourism content and promotion experts. They encourage experiencing the charms of various regions through themes such as K-pop, food and drink, tradition, nature, healing, and hiking.


They will be introduced as '2024 Korea Visit Year Specially Planned Tourism Products' starting mid-month through online travel platforms (OTA) such as Viator (Americas), Klook (Greater China), and Creatrip (Global).


A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official said, "We hope this will serve as a catalyst for revitalizing regional tourism and developing diverse regional tourism products."
