Built at a cost of 25 billion won, two-story building features 25m 8-lane swimming pool and gymnasium
Buyeo County, Chungnam Province, announced on the 12th that it has been selected for the second round of this year's School Complex Facility Project hosted by the Ministry of Education and will construct the Bandabi National Sports Center.
This project, with a total budget of 25 billion KRW (including 12.5 billion KRW in national funds), aims to install libraries, cultural and sports facilities, and care centers in schools and other locations so that local residents and students can use them.
The county plans to build the facility as a disability-friendly, community-oriented center with one basement floor and two above-ground floors, totaling 4,423 square meters, in the Buyeo Culture and Arts Education Complex Town area, with completion scheduled for the first half of 2027.
The center will be equipped with a 25-meter, 8-lane swimming pool, a gymnasium, a multipurpose room, and a fitness center.
County Governor Park Junghyun said, "With our selection for this project, we have created an opportunity to expand the insufficient public sports facilities for people with disabilities and students, and to contribute to improving the health and well-being of county residents. I would like to thank the Buyeo Office of Education for their active cooperation, and we will do our best to ensure the safe construction of the school complex facility in the future."
